At a lunch table in Forodhani table a friend received a reverse call. We all laughed at this mainly because It is rare and the individual calling who was her brother had the capability of making a normal call. I cannot make a reverse call, I blurted out. The girl next to me quickly reminded me the infamous words never say never. This ordeal wasn't a first for me. I have been found heard saying could never be me in uncertain and uncomfortable situations. Can never be me, fighting the other woman, this I repeat, will never be me.

I believe in living a wholesome and bold life. One that includes a clear charted path. A life where one is sober and responsible for their actions. This is a life where one sits on the driver's seat. This is my life and I have full control of it, okay for the most part. Shit happens in life, in a snap life can change yes I'm aware of this but I still will utter the dreaded words for I can. I’m not afraid of my future for it is unknown and for this mere fact, I won't shy away from manifesting a good life for it is possible, It has happened to a number of people who will forever serve as a living example.

Most people associate my lifestyle choice to the faith I subscribe to. Some tell me that time will tell. What does a 23-year-old know? I have been told that life happens and when it does I will find myself bending my principles.”Life can do a number on you and when it does you will find your self taking a different stand other than the one you are on right now” I was once advice. I have been warned of uttering the said words for life takes turns that man has limited control of. This is true, but I won't cower from saying stuff with my chest. I will boldly have a stand, I will boldly make comments and speak to my existence for I believe in the power of the tongue. We are 17 days into the new year, among the resolutions that you have noted down please add “saying stuff with your chest” then start putting in the work, for only you can save you.

Drugs, fighting the other woman, being broke, eating meat…….. this is my never will I ever list, what’s yours?
