NOTHING LIKE POST-COVID…
I plan to do it once the Covid-19 is over, actually this will make sense once Covid-19 is over. Maybe we can meet up and all about it once the pandemic is over.I’ve been hearing a lot of plans scheduled around post-Covid-19. Business plans, family-oriented plans and most importantly organisational or institutional plans that are being put off until post-pandemic. My only big ask is that when is that going to be and why are we not living in this moment. Has Covid changed the world, yes, Will 2020 go down in history as the most distorted and life-changing year? Yes, but why are we planning post-pandemic? Who is it who has promised us that the pandemic will cease spreading at some point and that life will get back to normal? A normal that we were once acquainted by, a normal that did not include sanitizers and mask? Where is this promise that pushing and putting off important life events is a safe move till post-Covid? I don't think that there's going to exist a post-covid-19 soon. I don't think that at some point all this will change and that a new normal will be felt.
In my opinion, we are existing during the new normal. Three months ago, maybe it would have made sense to talk of life post-pandemic, but five months down the line I think we can all come to a consensus that this is our new normal. Remote working, sanitizing and using masks this is the new normal and it will continue being so for a very long time. The virus to our disappointment is not waiting, neither is to reschedule plans. To be honest, the Covid-19 virus has gotten us to pivot not only as individuals but also organisations and the said pivot wasn't temporary.Covid-19 has given us time to sit back and re-evaluate on our dreams, careers, missions and visions and most importantly our individual selves. The pandemic has shone a light on the many factors that need change, the pandemic has opened our eyes to a new way of living, a new normal which it is that we are experiencing.
This is our reality. This is our now. This is what is on the ground and because of this, I think it's important that we all focus on living at this moment. It is important that we push and strive to live in the now because post-covid just like pre covid is a conceived notion that at the moment we cant afford. My `
