I have only existed for 22 years on this beautiful earth. For the 22 years of my existence, I have only been a girl. I can only share my experience. An experience from a black,Muslim girls lenses.

My voice our future is the theme for this year’s International day of the girl child and with this in mind i’d like to use my voice to call to attention some of the issues that as a girl I have faced and that other girls in my surrounding or around the world have to battle with. These issues range from adolescence years to adulthood and some as a young professional.The issues that I will be listing will not only be from my experience but others as well.

  1. ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION.

I grew up in shags. This is Kenyan the reference for the countryside. Before you create a mental picture of how my life in hags was, let me inform you that I attended the best of schools in my area. Schools that were very much all rounded, from class to extra curricular activities.It is the foundation that I got from the said schools that

  1. FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.
  2. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES.
  3. GENDER EQUALITY.
  4. REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH.
