CUT THE CRAP AND RAISE YOUR KIDS WELL.
My paycheck is here.Im a little bit excited just a little bit.Ofcourse I have to grab afew, and tick away on my shopping list.My first stop Carrefour mainly because they have an array of vegan options and two at the end of every month most items have been discounted that’s a win for me and my pocket.
As I stroll through the aisle picking this and that I heard a toddler scream.The screams came from the next aisle prompting either my maternal instincts or the gossiper in me to quickly push my trolley to the said direction.The 5 year old was howling because the guardian was it contending to his orders.Chocolate!Tobleron to be precise.The tantrums would continue for another 10 minutes as the mom who kept calling him baby pleaded with the kid to stop.Please be a good boy,stop crying,I will get you that and any other thing you want.In the end the boy not only got the chocolate but also a gallon of strattberry youghurt and a packet of lolipop.A spoilt brat if you ask me.
I’d later pop into my salon for a retouch.Since it was a busy Sunday,mums and helps would stroll in and out with their kids,it’s a start of a new month after all and we all want to look the part.This 10 year old walked in with the mom.Being a regular customer who knew her way around the salon,she made it to the mani/pedi area picked out her nail polish of choice and she made her nails.The head loctician who was working on my head,whispered “Aka kakona tabia mbaya na mamake hataki useme”.The kid would later pour a bottle of massage oil on her hands all in the name of offering herelf a massage.Her mom only looked at her and looked away as she continued to click on her phone.I was bothered,livid to say the least.
In a past phone call with a friend who has relocated to the coast,I was informed of an 8 year old who cursed freely in the presence of his parents.My friend expecting a form of modern day punishment,was dumbfounded when the parents looked away.According to them,their kid cursing out the F word
I’m a chip of the old block.I believe that parenting should be executed in a certain way.One that won’t harm the kids but show boundaries but so far these kids have been misbehaving and no parent seems to care!
